Using the city’s iconic Deco patterns as inspiration, you’ll be guided through the playful, experimental process of gel plate monoprinting—layering textures, motifs, and marks to create striking compositions. Discover how simple tools can produce rich, unexpected results as you explore repetition, rhythm, and pattern the Deco way. We’ll show you the techniques, but the magic is in your own exploration—mix, improvise, and push the process in directions that feel uniquely yours. You walk away with a set of custom Art Deco–inspired postcards, printed by hand and crafted entirely by you.

Led by visual artist Aashim Tyagi, the weekend begins with a slow, attentive walk through Fort and Kala Ghoda—noticing hand-painted signs, fading letters, surfaces, and the quiet traces of change embedded in the city’s built landscape. Learn how to document these visual fragments with intention as you work with light, framing, layers, and storytelling through images.

On the second day, bring your observations into the studio and transform them into a small, handmade zine—editing, printing, and sequencing photographs to shape your own narrative of the city. You walk away with a zine made by you, sharpened visual curiosity, and a new way of seeing Bombay through its streets, signs, and stories.
